IPIX Postpones Earnings Release; Announces Filing of Form 12b-25

VIENNA, Va. - March 16, 2005 - IPIX Corporation (NASDAQ: IPIX), a premier supplier of 360°, immersive imaging technologies for visual intelligence applications, today announced that it has postponed its earnings release regarding its results for the fourth quarter and fiscal year ended Dec. 31, 2004, and that it will file a Form 12b-25 (Notification of Late Filing) with the Securities and Exchange Commission with respect to its annual report on Form 10-K for the year ended Dec. 31, 2004.

The late filing is the result of delays IPIX has experienced in completing its financial statements and audit for the year ended Dec. 31, 2004. The delays stem directly from the recent sale of IPIX's AdMission business unit in January 2005. Due to the additional time required to complete the financial statements resulting from, and the presentation of the other data relating to, the sale of these assets, IPIX was unable to complete its Annual Report on Form 10-K for the period ended Dec. 31, 2004, without the expenditure of unreasonable effort and expense, as outlined in its Form 12b-25 filing.

The sale of the AdMission business unit was part of IPIX's strategic plan to focus on its core 360°, immersive imaging technologies. IPIX has not set a date and time for the rescheduled earnings announcement.
