IPIX Hires Chief Technology Officer

VIENNA, Va. - March 22, 2005 - IPIX Corporation (NASDAQ: IPIX), a premium supplier of visual intelligence technologies, announced today the hiring of Geoff Egnal, Ph.D., as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) responsible for leading IPIX's new product and technology development. As CTO, Egnal will also be in charge of securing external research funding and guiding internal research efforts.

"Research already under way will continue to increase IPIX's product pipeline, and I look forward to expanding these efforts and continuing the development of technologies for new and emerging markets."

Egnal previously served as senior scientist for ObjectVideo, a video surveillance software company, where he was a part of the core team in charge of technology fundraising and grant management, as well as research and product engineering. He also worked as a consultant for the Monitor Company, a strategic consultancy, and was founder of ViewMaven, a video special effects company for sports broadcasts.

Egnal is a graduate of Yale University with a B.S. in Applied Mathematics, and earned a Ph.D. in Computer and Information Science from the University of Pennsylvania.
