As of June 2004, IPIX has discontinued sale of the IPIX 360 Suite and the IPIX 360 Suite Pro.
If you are a new customer, please refer to information on this Web site about the IPIX® Interactive Studio™ to explore the possibilities of using IPIX 360° panoramic imaging technology.
IPIX image keys for the IPIX 360 Suite and the IPIX 360 Suite Pro will continue to be available for purchase until December 31, 2005.
You may continue to load the IPIX 360 Suite or IPIX 360 Suite Pro from the software CDROMs currently in your possession onto additional computers, in accordance with the Software License Agreement.
Keys you have currently downloaded onto your computer(s) will continue to be available for your use. Any IPIX keys you have banked on the IPIX online store will be available for download onto one or more computers through December 31, 2005. IPIX Keys on your computer(s) will continue to work in the legacy IPIX Builder and IPIX Wizard applications loaded on those computers, even if you download the new IPIX Interactive Studio and Activate a new license.
What are IPIX Software Licensing Options?
The IPIX 360 Suite software uses IPIX® Keys. An IPIX Key is a per-image license to distribute that particular image.
IPIX Keys are implemented as unique codes designed to save the IPIX Full-360° images you create with the IPIX 360 Suite Wizard or Builder software. When you purchase a roll of film for your camera and take pictures, the film must then be developed and printed on quality paper at a cost to you. In a similar fashion, you are charged for the use of keys to save and distribute Full-360° images.
During 2004 and 2005, IPIX 360 Suite Keys will continue to be available for purchase. The IPIX 360 Suite Annual Seat License option has been discontinued with the introduction of the IPIX Interactive Studio.
Are there different kinds of IPIX® Keys?
Yes, there are. The type of Key you use depends upon the software you have. For instance, the IPIX® Real Estate Wizard software uses standard IPIX® Real Estate Wizard Keys. The IPIX® 360 Suite software uses IPIX® 360 Suite Keys. The IPIX® Wizard or Builder software uses Wizard or Builder Keys. Each one of these Keys has a different price that reflects the capability of the software.
What are serial numbers vs. site codes?
Serial numbers and site codes are essentially the same. They are both unique codes for your IPIX 360 Suite and the IPIX 360 Suite Pro, just the name has been changed.
What are serial numbers?
When you first install the IPIX 360 Suite or IPIX 360 Suite Pro, your computer is assigned a serial number. This number is a unique identifier that the IPIX Store uses to generate key codes, which you enter into the IPIX 360 Suite or IPIX 360 Suite Pro to add IPIX® Keys.
How do I locate my serial number?
It appears on the "Add Keys" screen and in the title bar of the IPIX 360 Suite or IPIX 360 Suite Pro. Before you order more keys, make sure you provide the serial number for the specific software application that will be running your using and saving 360® images. Keys ordered for a specific serial number will not work with any other machine or application.
I receive a "Key Database" error when launching the software or trying to save images.
The key database files may be damaged. Contact Customer Service for help with retrieving any keys in the system and restoring the database.
I'm having trouble installing the IPIX 360 Suite or IPIX 360 Suite Pro on NT/Win2000/WinXP.
Earlier versions of the IPIX 360 Suite or IPIX 360 Suite Pro REQUIRED the user to have administrative access on the machine that they are installing the software on. This is due to many software support files being located in the main Windows/WinNT system folder. If the user does not have read/write access to these files, the software will not operate correctly.
When I am installing the IPIX 360 Suite or IPIX 360 Suite Pro, I get "Error 112" while Installshield is decompressing.
"Error 112" indicates when your TEMP directory is full. You need to go through your TEMP file and delete the .tmp files. This will remove the unnecessary files from your hard drive which are hindering the IPIX 360 Suite or IPIX 360 Suite Pro installation. Once you have sorted your TEMP directory, try installing the IPIX 360 Suite or IPIX 360 Suite Pro again.
The IPIX Photoshop plug-in doesn't seem to be installing correctly.
If you're using Photoshop 7 or higher, the installer won't detect the Photoshop Installation correctly. Contact IPIX Technical Support to have a copy of the plug-in emailed to you.
When I try to auto-stitch my images in Builder or Wizard, I get an empty white preview.
On some Windows 98 machines, some of the IPIX 360 Suite or IPIX 360 Suite Pro files may be installed incorrectly. Contact Technical Support for assistance with this problem.
When I try to add keys to my software, I receive an "ERROR 113".
An "Error 113" signifies that the activation code in question has already been added to the software. If the key activation code is old, When I try to save my images, I receive a ""Key database ERROR 100".
I constantly have database problems with my IPIX Wizard or Builder software on my OS X machine.
The older IPIX Macintosh software was NOT designed to run under OS X on the Macintosh, even in "Classic Mode". To run the software properly will require you to reboot completely into OS 9. If you have already placed keys into the software, contact Customer Service for assistance in retrieving them. Otherwise, trash the IPIX folder on your hard drive, empty the trash, then reboot into OS 9 and reinstall the IPIX 360 Suite or the IPIX 360 Suite Pro.
I can't seem to open any of my hemisphere files in either the Builder OR Wizard.
The IPIX 360 Suite for Macintosh relies heavily on the default QuickTime libraries to handle opening images. Make sure that you have the latest version of QuickTime installed for your version of Mac OS.
I receive an error saying that the software has "failed to load front (or back) hemisphere".
This error may happen when trying to stitch, or after the stitching is finished and you attempt to save. It is usually caused by not having enough memory allocated to the software. GET INFO on the IPIX Wizard program icon and set the MINIMUM MEMORY to 45000, and PREFERRED MEMORY to 90000. Relaunch the program and re-stitch the image.
If this fails to correct the problem, you may need to update your machine's QuickTime installation. Visit the for assistance with this process.
My camera isn't listed in the calibration screen.
Download a camera config file for your camera model. If you don't see your camera there, contact IPIX Technical Support.
I've just saved an image in all the available formats, and the Builder took two keys.
An Editable IPIX Image was created along with your normal saves. While it is possible to create one of each format (and several sizes of most formats) with the Builder using one key, the Editable IPIX Image is the exception to this rule. An Editable IPIX Image will always use its own key. Since you will be editing the image and bringing it back for final saving, creating other save types at the same time as the Editable is inadvisable. If you have no need to edit the image, saving the Editable is not necessary.
Create your Editable image, edit the image, then bring the Editable file back to the Builder to create your final save types. In this order, the process will use only one key.
I saved an Editable IPIX image but now it gives me an error "Failed to Load Sources" when trying to open it.
When creating an Editable IPIX image, do NOT place a tripod cap with its associated URL in the image. Save the tripod cap step for AFTER your editing is complete, right before saving your final images in the Builder. This also holds true for Archive images.
Error 100 - File error reading IPIX Key Database
This error usually occurs on Windows NT/2000/XP machines. The IPIX 360 Suite and the IPIX 360 Suite Pro require the user to have Administrative access to the machine on which they're using the software. If you do not, several Key Database files cannot be written to, resulting in failed save operations.
Error 107 - Your IPIX Key Database is Invalid
Many things can cause this error. If you believe you had keys on the machine when the error occurred, contact Customer Service for assistance with retrieving them. If you DID NOT have keys on the system, Technical Support can give you the instructions to reset the database.
Error 110 - This Key Activation Code is not valid for this serial number.
The serial number which the keys were withdrawn to do not match the serial number of the software you're attempting to place them into. Double-check the serial numbers both on your software and on the store to ensure that you downloaded them to the correct serial number. If the keys were erroneously withdrawn to a serial number that is no longer in use, contact Customer Service and inform them of the problem.
Useful tip: If you register a 360 Suite Wizard and try to put the activation code into the 360 Suite Builder, the site code will be one digit off. Launch the application that is registered and add the sitecode there.
Error 113 - The Key Activation Code you entered has already been added.
The code has already been used on this machine. This usually happens if you try to copy and paste the 30-digit activation code into the software after the IPIX Store Key Plug-in has already added the keys to your software's database. It can also happens if it is an old activation code that was used sometime in the past. If this is the case a new key activation code will need to be obtained from the IPIX Store.
