3.1. What are the major differences between the IPIX Interactive Studio and the IPIX 360 Suite?

IPIX Interactive Studio replaces the functionality of the IPIX Wizard and Builder.
The main differences are:

• Unlimited image production for one annual fee
• New image filters work directly on the immersive image
• New Combine tools make compositing images effortless
• Improved Paint tools provide retouching directly on the immersive image
• Improved control of scaling and compression for all output types
• Improved image sampling for higher quality images, and more efficient export to Photoshop®
• Simplified format structure (no .ipp or .ipa files)
• Direct conversion to and from cube, QuickTime cubic, equirectangular, and IPIX formats
• Improved Fisheye Auto Stitcher with manual override.
• 100% support for both Windows and Mac OS X

3.2. Is the IPIX Interactive Studio compatible with the current IPIX 360 Suite multimedia tools?

Yes. Customers using Windows can still use the TVstudio, iLinker, Egallery, and Brochure products with the output of the IPIX Interactive Studio.

3.3. Can the IPIX Interactive Studio and the IPIX 360 Suite be installed on the same computer?

Yes. These are two separate applications and will not conflict if loaded onto the same computer.

3.4. Is there a migration path to the IPIX Interactive Studio from the IPIX 360 Suite software?

Yes. Images, including both raw hemis and finished IPIX, created in the IPIX 360 Suite can be loaded into the IPIX Interactive Studio.

3.5. What happens to the keys I already have for the IPIX 360 Suite?

Keys available for the IPIX 360 Suite can continue to be used on the IPIX 360 Suite. The IPIX Interactive Studio does not support per image key licensing.

3.6. Will I be able to place hot spots in IPIX Images with the IPIX Interactive Studio?

Yes. Customers on Windows can still use the IPIX i-Linker. Third party products are available as well for Windows and Mac OS X.

3.7. Can I create Real Estate Images with the IPIX Interactive Studio?

If the images are for non-residential real estate or for real estate outside the United States, yes. Currently, the field-of-use for the IPIX Interactive Studio excludes usage for residential real estate in the United States.

3.8. Does the IPIX Interactive Studio include an upgrade to the IPIX Multimedia software tools?

No. The IPIX Interactive Studio does not include any of the tools found in the IPIX 360 Suite product.

For new customers, IPIX will offer for Windows users the Multimedia Toolkit. This will include the TV-studio, the i-Linker and the Brochure. Please visit store.ipix.com for more information.

3.9. Can I still use the IPIX Photoshop Plug-in with the IPIX Interactive Studio?

No. However, since the IPIX Interactive Studio inputs and outputs cube strips directly, the IPIX Photoshop Plug-in is no longer needed to edit your images in Photoshop. Consequently, the .ipp format supported by the IPIX Photoshop Plug-in is no longer available as an output option. The IPIX Interactive Studio will still be able to load existing .ipp files, though, so if you have images archived in .ipp format, you can continue use these with the Interactive Studio. Alternatively, should your prefer, you can convert them to another uncompressed format for archiving and future use.

3.10. How long will keys for the IPIX 360 Suite be available?

Keys for the IPIX 360 Suite will be available for purchase until December 31, 2005. With the introduction of the IPIX Interactive Studio, we have announced the end-of-life of the IPIX 360 Suite.

3.11. How long can I use keys that I have on my computer?

Keys you have currently downloaded onto your computer will continue to be available for your use. Even if you download the IPIX Interactive Studio and Activate a new license, those keys will still be available for you to use in the legacy IPIX Builder and IPIX Wizard applications.

3.12. What happens to the Keys I currently have banked?

Any IPIX keys you have purchased will continue to work in the legacy IPIX Builder and IPIX Wizard applications. You can download and use them at any time, even if you download the IPIX Interactive Studio and Activate a new license.
