Option 1: Child Pop-Up Window

Click on the button on the left to see an actual sample of this linking option. Please remember that a new pop-up window will open up above this page. To return to this page, close the new window by clicking on the "X" in the upper right hand corner.

Description: Option one provides the best viewing experience and is recommended, yet is slightly more complex to implement. It enables visitors to view the virtual tour in a separate, smaller-sized "child" or "pop-up" window without any browser navigation buttons or scrollbars. This new window will "float" above your Web page. This option uses the JavaScript programming language which is supported by most Internet browsers. If a Web site visitor does not have JavaScript enabled in their browser, they will automatically see a new, full-sized browser window exactly like in Option 2. This means that everyone will always be able to see your virtual tour.

Benefits: The most visually appealing and user-friendly option. Your Web site is clearly visible behind the "child" window. Users can close the virtual tour by clicking on the small "X" button in the upper right hand corner of the window.

Drawbacks: The most complex option to implement, but quite easy for most professional Web designers.

Option 2: Full-Sized Window

Click on the button on the left to see an actual sample of this linking option. Please remember that a new browser window will open up. To return to this page, close the new browser window.

Description: Option two is quite easy to implement, although it's not the simplest option. Visitors to your Web site will click on the linking button and then a second full-sized Internet browser window will open to view the virtual tour. Visitors can return to your site by closing the new browser window or clicking on the original browser window in the task bar at the bottom of the screen.

Benefits: An easy to implement option. A new window will open to display the tour; leaving your Web site page still open. Supported by 100 percent of the Internet browsers.

Drawbacks: Some beginner Internet users might not understand how to switch between two different browser windows. Hitting the "Back" button in the new window will NOT bring them back to your Web site.

Option 3: Full-Sized Window

Click on the button on the left to see an actual sample of this linking option. Please remember to use the "Back" button on your browser to return to this page.

Description:Option three is the easiest to implement. Visitors to your Web site will click on the button above and will go directly to a new page containing the IPIX® Virtual Tour. Visitors can use the browser's "Back" button to return to your site.

Benefits: The simplest linking option. No new pages will open up. Users will return to your page by using the familiar "Back" button on their Internet browser.

Drawbacks: Web site visitors will actually be leaving your Web site to view the tour. If users view several scenes within a virtual tour, they may have to hit the "Back" button several times to return to your Web site.
