Help Desk Support

Summary:

Our Reston office is in search of a Help Desk Support person to answer technical questions in terms that end users understand. Knowledge regarding the use of personal computer hardware and software and network-related issues is required. The ability to work successfully and contribute positively to the Company is imperative. Persistent dedication to customer service is a must.


Responsibilities:

  • Support for the desktop, laptop computers and mobile devices
  • Responsible for installation, maintenance and operation of user applications
  • Manage remote connectivity
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time management skills
  • Perform appropriate change control procedures
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant systems and product offerings
  • Provide appropriate input regarding IT purchases
  • Must have the capability to manage projects
  • Interact with the internal IT and departmental staff to seek innovative, cost-effective, and high-return business solutions to complex problems
  • Should have proven experience managing successful concurrent IT projects
  • Fill in for the Systems Engineer as necessary

Qualifications:

  • Help Desk experience
  • Windows Operating Systems
  • Microsoft Office Expert
  • Knowledge of telecommunications and networks systems
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to convey complex issues in a clear, concise manner
  • Strong customer orientation, acting as a customer representative of the IT department
  • Must be detail oriented with highly developed organizational skills, must have excellent teamwork and customer service skills, strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Must have the discipline for maintaining documentation and data quality standards, must be collaborative, flexible, and willing take an autonomous approach to achieving objectives
  • Must have excellent verbal communications skills with the ability to communicate with non-technical staff
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Travel with this position is possible on occasion
  • Required rotation of 24x7 support
