Summary:

Provide technical contribution and leadership of ongoing engineering projects related to the development of PC-based software and imaging systems.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop PC-based imaging software to inter-relate multiple IP camera through graphical interfaces to create an immersive user perspective.
  • Implement software to manage and interpret streaming jpeg video, direct show filters and MPEG streams between multiple IP cameras.
  • Understand and utilize varied image compression schemes to implement real-time image manipulation.
  • Process: Understand and use processes and procedures for design and development that lead to a measurable improvement in the quality, reusability and maintainability of the company's software base.
  • SCM: Understand and use the software configuration management system.
  • Design: Create innovative software designs based on prescribed architectures utilizing an existing base software structure.
  • Developement: Modify and improve existing software products to meet new and changing market requirements.
  • Leadership: At the appropriate times, inspire a small team of highly skilled developers to complete small to medium size development projects on time, within budget and with a high degree of quality.

Qualifications:

  • Experience or an interest in designing and developing Graphic User Interface (GUI) software for advanced PC-based systems or video image manipulation.
  • Software development in C++ utilizing MS Visual Studio.
  • Experience developing applications directly relating to video management or video processing preferred but not required.
  • Experience using a Software Configuration Management System such as Visual SourceSafe, PVCS, Perforce or ClearCase.
  • Ability to write technical documentation.
  • Experience with video image processing, IP Camera handling and JPEG/MPEG compression preferred but not required.
  • A 4-year bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or other related technology is required.
