Initially funded by the Department of Energy and NASA, IPIX developed one of the first commercially available systems to produce 3600 by 3600 navigable images. Since that time, IPIX has won more patents than almost any other surveillance technology company for its breakthrough innovations. With respect to digital photography, the IPIX technology can "stitch" together individual images into a clear, seamless, virtual tour. IPIX "de-warps" the images from the fisheye lens for normal image scale and proportion.

IPIX offers the most advanced digital solution for wide area surveillance and situational awareness. IPIX cameras offer digital pan, tilt, and zoom. There are no moving parts or chances that an image will become out of focus. This technology can also be integrated with access control or building management systems to detect motion, adjust room temperature, turn lights on and off, lock and unlock doors, activate alarms, and more. Moreover, surveillance can be done remotely from any desktop, laptop, or handheld PC with Internet access. As you can imagine, there are opportunities to benefit from this technology at every angle.
